i just re-located

i just Re-Located from New York to North Carolina.

i left and arrived on Christmas Eve, 2008.  i had my car packed with boxes of clothes and stuff.  i still have yet to get a truck and get back up there for the remainder, and the little bit of furniture i have (couch, bed, etc,...)

my whole family lives in New York.  i met my GirlFriend online over a year ago, and moevd down here to Her when i came down.

my reasonings are rather simple, even though it may be crazy that i left all my family, a well paying job, and the few friends i had there.  The small inflation for this small recession, made things cost more in New York, and didn't affect much of North Carolina.

Cigarettes were up to over $7.00 a pack, and down here they are a littl over $3.00, for example.  While grocery shopping, there is not so much of a major difference, but i can see it.  i have worked in grocery retail for over ten years, so i know the round-about pricing for most of anything, in New York anyways.  Some things are half the price, some things are very close to the same.  Like Crystal Light packets are about $4 in NY, and $3 in NC.  Gas prices are about the same amount pretty much everywhere,.,...

Climate!  i wasn't sure how much longer i could tolerate the 0-30 degrees (F) wheather.  i had to deal with it my whole life, yes, and i even worked a couple of jobs outside dring the worst snow storms, but i think my immunity for the cold vanished.  i couldn't get comfortible, not even being indoors with the heat up, i would still need a sweat shirt and long warm pants to stay comfy.  Here its much warmer.  i spoke to my family one night, and told them i was wearing a tee shirt, outside, and if i did that in NY that night, it may have been frost bite, lol.

The sad part, is we had a pretty big snow storm just last week.  i was amazed at how everything rather closed down for the day,.... that won't happen in NY!  never ever!  But, the snow followed me down here!  lol

Traffic!  oooo, i was on that fish shaped like an island, Long Island, and driving there during rush hour is a no no,.,..  sitting ducks!  ick!  Here, i haven't even seen a rush hour yet!  lol  The speed limit goes as high as 70mph here!  i luv it!

Trees, forests, farms, hills, fields, its all here!  i am very glad i made this move!  Now all i need to do is find a job, lol.

Best wishes to Everyone!

xo
